Since 2008, the Brimstone has curated an annual nostalgia art show for artists, geeks, gamers, pop-culture fans, and collectors. Each year, we feature works inspired by these themes, along with the overt theme that almost anything can fit the theme. With vibrant colors, engaging aesthetics, and visual diversity, this show is anything but predictable.
As this exhibit evolved, it has begun to take on a more immersive flow, influenced by co-curators, Ashley Royer and Kat Godsey. To fit with this emerging trend, each year presents a sub-theme -- a challenge to create works inspired by the topic. This year's sub-theme will be video games.
Artwork does not need to fit this theme -- all manner of works are being considered. So get those paints out, charge your apple pencils, and dust off your emails - Chaos Theory awaits!
The Curioddities Art Show is a community collaboration, proudly hosted by the Brimstone Historical Society and Sulphur Parks & Recreation. There are no fees for entering, displaying, or selling artworks in this exhibition. Likewise, anyone and everyone is welcome to submit work. There is no age limit or prerequisite for acceptance to this gallery.
Artists who wish to participate should submit their entries by email with CHAOS THEORY 2024 in the subject line.
